Emmy-Award-winning underwater cinematographer and producer; host of Jonathan Bird’s Blue World; director of over 50 films for broadcast and education on networks including National Geographic Channel, PBS, ABC, USA Network, Discovery and the SciFi Channel; currently (2017) in production on Ancient Caves, his first IMAX film; president of the non-profit organization Oceanic Research Group (1991); author of seven books; photographer; public speaker; member of the Wyland Ocean Artist Society; plays the guitar in the first all underwater photographer bandThe Wetsuits.
