Wreck diver and discoverer; underwater photographer; lecturer; writer; led the first European shipwreck expedition beyond 100 m (330 ft) in 1997 (King Edward VII-class battleship); first dove the HMHS Britannic in 1998; has worked with the UK Customs & Excise Receiver of Wreck to recover submerged artefacts for museum exhibiting; has explored more than 400 virgin shipwrecks with dive partner Chris Hutchison; development diver for rebreather manufacturers; created the EUROTEK technical diving conference with Carl Spencer and Rosemary E Lunn in 2008.

Jeffrey Gallant is the Editor-in-Chief and Records Keeper of the Diving Almanac. He is also a contributing editor of DIVER Magazine, and the scientific director of the Greenland Shark and Elasmobranch Education and Research Group (GEERG). Jeffrey started diving in 1982.
