Longtime member of Équipe Cousteau; took part in or led dives during several expeditions including the Fontaine of Vaucluse, the documentary film World Without Sun, Truk Lagoon (1970), Antarctica and the Bering Strait; was one of the six Conshelf III aquanauts, spending three weeks at 100 m; pioneer in gas blending and saturation diving; worked with Dr. Jacques Chouteau at Jacques-Yves Cousteau’s CEMA (Centre d’études maritimes avancées, formerly known as OFRS) from 1968 to 1972; COMEX engineer.

Jeffrey Gallant is the Editor-in-Chief and Records Keeper of the Diving Almanac. He is also a contributing editor of DIVER Magazine, and the scientific director of the Greenland Shark and Elasmobranch Education and Research Group (GEERG). Jeffrey started diving in 1982.
