Screenwriter; director; producer (Avatar, Titanic, Abyss, Aliens of the Deep, Ghosts of the Abyss, Expedition Bismarck, Terminator, Aliens); marine conservationist; made the deepest solo dive in a submersible (10,898.4 m / 35,756 ft) aboard the Deepsea Challenger in the Mariana Trench, in 2012.
