Former member of the U.S. Navy underwater photographic team; photographed the first Man in the Sea Program (SEALAB); commercial diver; photographer for the University of North Carolina Wilmington (NURC) and U.S. Navy Specialized Research Diving Detachment (SRDD) in the Aquarius Undersea Laboratory; first used the Aqua-Lung in 1956.

Jeffrey Gallant is the Editor-in-Chief and Records Keeper of the Diving Almanac. He is also a contributing editor of DIVER Magazine, and the scientific director of the Greenland Shark and Elasmobranch Education and Research Group (GEERG). Jeffrey started diving in 1982.
