Creator of Davis False Lung (1911) and the first submersible decompression chamber (1912); inventor of the Davis Submarine Escape Apparatus (DSEA) in 1910; began employment with Siebe and Gorman in 1882; became governing director of Siebe and Gorman in 1932; became life president of Siebe and Gorman in 1959.
