Oceanographer; explorer; public speaker; Director of Special Projects at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution; member of James Cameron’s Deep Ocean Task Force and the XPrize Ocean Advisory Board; mapped the deep seafloor with submersibles and robots; co-expedition leader RMS Titanic and Bismarck expeditions; currently planning an international expedition to locate and document the wreckage of Ernest Shackleton’s ship, HMS Endurance; has given more than 10 TED and TEDx presentations.
