Typhoon class (Russia). Length: Approx. 175 m (574 ft); Beam: 23 m (75 ft); Draft: 12 m (38 ft); Displacement: 33,800 tons; Propulsion: 2 pressurized-water nuclear reactors driving 2 propellers; Crew: 150; Armament: 6 torpedo tubes, 20 ballistic missiles; First Sub Commissioned: December 12, 1981; Maximum Speed: 27 knots (50 kph / 31 mph). As of 2017, only one of six completed Typhoon class submarines, the Dmitriy Donskoy (TK-208), is still in active service. An even longer submarine, the Belgorod (Project 09852), a modified Oscar II class cruise missile sub measuring 184 m (604 ft), was reportedly close to being launched in April 2017.
