Pioneer of freediving and spearfishing; underwater weapons designer; co-founder of the Bottom Scratchers Dive Club (San Diego) in 1933, the world’s first freediving club; invented the Potts reel and the two-part trigger mechanism; designed aluminum underwater camera housings; designed an underwater rocket with Jack Prodanovich for The Spy Who Loved Me; a.k.a. Radar Eyes.
