Competitive freediver and world record holder; shark conservationist; co-founder of AIDA Canada; founded The Watermen Project, an NPO dedicated to ocean conservation, in 2012; first freediver to swim through the Arch in the Dahab Blue Hole (Egypt) without fins and on a single breath of air; ocean ambassador of the IUCN Global Marine and Polar Programme (2013).

Jeffrey Gallant is the Editor-in-Chief and Records Keeper of the Diving Almanac. He is also a contributing editor of DIVER Magazine, and the scientific director of the Greenland Shark and Elasmobranch Education and Research Group (GEERG). Jeffrey started diving in 1982.
