First dive across the English Channel

1962 – Fred Baldasare (USA). Baldasare covered the total distance of 67.59 km (42 miles) in 19 hours and one minute using scuba equipment. He swam inside a wire cage that was towed by a trawler at a depth of 4.5 m (15 ft).
