Shark researcher; co-founder and Director of Pelagios-Kakunjá A.C., a nonprofit organization that focuses on sharks and other open-water species; founding member of the Mexican Society of Cartilaginous Fish; expert in shark reproduction; studies the behaviour of several shark species in the Pacific and Caribbean including the hammerhead shark and the white shark; public speaker and lecturer; advocate for shark conservation; scientific advisor on multiple television documentaries and Discovery Channel’s Shark Week; scientific advisor for shark conservation foundations including Fins Attached and Save Our Sharks; documented the largest white shark filmed underwater.
