Pioneer diver; director of numerous diving clubs; diving instructor and trainer; equipment manufacturer consultant; expert witness in diving-related court cases; Director of Recreational Diving for the Historical Diving Society; collector of diving literature; writer, public speaker; hosted the first U.S. meeting for diving bibliophiles at his Pismo Beach home in 1993; did his first dive Laguna Beach in 1951; officer in the U.S. Air Force officer during the Korean War; retired chiropractor.

Jeffrey Gallant is the Editor-in-Chief and Records Keeper of the Diving Almanac. He is also a contributing editor of DIVER Magazine, and the scientific director of the Greenland Shark and Elasmobranch Education and Research Group (GEERG). Jeffrey started diving in 1982.
