Engineer; inventor; cave diver; President and CEO of Stone Aerospace; designer of rebreathers, regulators, DPVs, ROVs, submersibles, 3D mapping tools and submersible space probes; investigator for the NASA-funded DEPTHX, ENDURANCE, VALKYRIE and ARTEMIS autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) projects; demonstrated the MK1 rebreather at Wakulla Springs in 1987 by remaining underwater for 24 hours; has published more than 220 articles on far-ranging topics including spacecraft; co-author of Beyond the Deep: The Deadly Descent Into the World’s Most Treacherous Cave (2002).
