Underwater painter; naturalist and zoologist; conservationist; co-owner and operator of ANIMA, an image bank of marine animals containing over 3000 individual portraits of fishes, crustaceans, molluscs and a wide range of other animals (founded in 1993); developed a method of drawing underwater making raw graphite drawings; has illustrated numerous guidebooks on the identification of fish and other marine life; official artist for the Conseil Superieur de la Peche (France).

Jeffrey Gallant is the Editor-in-Chief and Records Keeper of the Diving Almanac. He is also a contributing editor of DIVER Magazine, and the scientific director of the Greenland Shark and Elasmobranch Education and Research Group (GEERG). Jeffrey started diving in 1982.
