Royal Canadian Mounted Police diver and diving instructor; taught underwater investigation to more than 2,000 public safety divers; author of Encyclopedia of Underwater Investigation; 28-year veteran of the RCMP; instigator of the RCMP’s E Division Dive Team, which is known today as the Underwater Recovery Team; awarded the Cross of Valour for rescuing two fishermen trapped inside an overturned boat in 1981; the Canadian Coast Guard Hero-class patrol vessel CCGS Corporal Teather C.V. named in his honour; a.k.a. The Ambassador to Public Safety Diving.
