Co-founder of NAUI with Neal Hess and John C. Jones in 1960; Director of Sports and Underwater Activities for Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation in 1952; implemented the first instructor certification courses in the world with Bev Morgan in 1954; founded UNEXSO in Freeport, Grand Bahama Island; former editor for Skin Diver Magazine and Dive Magazine; technical advisor for Sea Hunt television series; co-founder of the International Underwater Film Festival and Underwater Photographic Society.

Jeffrey Gallant is the Editor-in-Chief and Records Keeper of the Diving Almanac. He is also a contributing editor of DIVER Magazine, and the scientific director of the Greenland Shark and Elasmobranch Education and Research Group (GEERG). Jeffrey started diving in 1982.
