Underwater photographer; diving entrepreneur, opened his first dive center in 1970 followed by a series of dive stations along the Sinai Coast; founded Red Sea Divers Center in Sharm el Sheikh in 1973; owned and operated several liveaboards in the Red Sea and Indian Ocean; owner of The Fantasea Line, a manufacturer and distributor of underwater photo equipment; invented the ProEar diving mask; inducted into the International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame in 2009.
