First cesarean section on a cownose ray

2015, Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies (Gatlinburg, Tennessee) - Ripley’s veterinarian Dr. Robert George, performed a cesarean section on a cownose ray (Rhinoptera bonasus) at the aquarium in an effort to save the pup and the mother who was two months overdue. The procedure was successful.
