1965 – NASA Astronaut Gordon Cooper, orbiting the Earth with Pete Conrad in Gemini 5, spoke by radiotelephone with astronaut and aquanaut Scott Carpenter inside SEALAB II at a depth of 62 m (205 ft) off La Jolla, California.
