Underwater photographer; began diving and underwater photography in Canada in 1976; has over 200 cover images to his credit, including a photograph of a sandbar shark which is the only underwater image ever published on the cover of LIFE Magazine (1991); has resided in Hawaii since 1986.

Jeffrey Gallant is the Editor-in-Chief and Records Keeper of the Diving Almanac. He is also a contributing editor of DIVER Magazine, and the scientific director of the Greenland Shark and Elasmobranch Education and Research Group (GEERG). Jeffrey started diving in 1982.
