The mouth of a bowhead whale (Balaena mysticetus) makes up a third of its body length. The mouth of a fully-grown 18 m (60 ft) bowhead whale is about 6 m (20 ft) wide. It lives in the Arctic Ocean and sub-Arctic waters and does not migrate to lower latitudes to feed or reproduce.
