Diving instructor; founded Professional Diving Schools of Florida, a.k.a. Pro Dive, in 1975; established Pro Dive’s Scuba Career Development Program, becoming one of PADl’s first Instructor Development Centers in 1984; established one of the first PADI Career Development Centers in 1996; Mr. MacKay and his wife Loren were killed in an avalanche while skiing in Utah; Pro Dive ceased operations in 2008.

Jeffrey Gallant is the Editor-in-Chief and Records Keeper of the Diving Almanac. He is also a contributing editor of DIVER Magazine, and the scientific director of the Greenland Shark and Elasmobranch Education and Research Group (GEERG). Jeffrey started diving in 1982.
