Underwater architect; designed underwater habitations and various see-through vessels including the Galathée habitat, which was installed at a depth of 9 m (30 ft) in the Mediterranean Sea in 1978; creator of the Sea Orbiter, a floating laboratory designed to drift across the ocean propelled by water current and wind (under development).
