Underwater photographer; contract photographer for National Geographic Magazine since 1998; writer; former editor of Fathoms Magazine; author; public speaker; Explorer-In-Residence and a member of the Board of Trustees for The New England Aquarium; National Council of the World Wildlife Fund; Board of Directors of the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy; Board of Directors of the Sea To Shore Alliance; created the New England Ocean Odyssey, a multi-year project with the Conservation Law Foundation to photograph marine wildlife in New England waters, in 2012.

Jeffrey Gallant is the Editor-in-Chief and Records Keeper of the Diving Almanac. He is also a contributing editor of DIVER Magazine, and the scientific director of the Greenland Shark and Elasmobranch Education and Research Group (GEERG). Jeffrey started diving in 1982.
