Pioneer underwater archaeologist; shipwreck expert; author of over 24 books; discoverer of numerous shipwrecks including the civil war submarine H.L. Hunley, the confederate blockade runner CSS Georgiana, the SS Ozama and the SS United States; President of the Sea Research Society; founder, owner and Vice-President of the International Diving Institute; Vice-President of the International Diving Institute; built his own diving gear and found his first shipwrecks at age 12.
