Underwater photographer; resident photographer for National Geographic Magazine; explorer; author; multiple awards include Lowell Thomas Award (Explorers Club) and the Lennart Nilsson Award in Photography; member of the Royal Photographic Society; member of the International Diving Hall of Fame (2002); trustee of the Shark Research Institute; took first underwater photos at age 12 using a Brownie Hawkeye camera in an improvised rubber housing; co-founder of Undersea Images with Jennifer Hayes.

Jeffrey Gallant is the Editor-in-Chief and Records Keeper of the Diving Almanac. He is also a contributing editor of DIVER Magazine, and the scientific director of the Greenland Shark and Elasmobranch Education and Research Group (GEERG). Jeffrey started diving in 1982.
