Competitive freediver and former world champion; founded Apnea Academy of freediving; he is the only competitor to have established world records in all the disciplines of freediving that existed during his career; helped create AIDA in 1994; his rivalry with Pipin Ferreras was the subject of Ocean Men: Extreme Dive, in 2001; television host; co-author of Manual of Freediving with Stefano Tovaglieri.
